Brooks Road Mid Century
After purchasing a mid-century built home in the Boston suburbs, our clients first plan of action was updating the small, 1950s style kitchen. After some careful site inspection and space planning, Petarson Studios advised taking down several walls, including a load bearing wall to open the space into the adjacent dining room. Working closely with our sister company, Petarson Renovations, we reimagined the kitchen from a 150 sq foot space to an open, airy and perfect for entertaining kitchen. Complete with a beverage station and a 10 foot island, the space now functions for the husband-and-wife duo who regularly entertain for pool parties and dinner feasts. A durable waterfall countertop wraps the island while warm, organic butcher block countertops graze the perimeter.
The space now complements the mid-century style home, while leaning into the client’s aesthetic which is influenced by their time living in London.
